Qatar is making significant strides in advancing personalized medicine as highlighted by the Personalized Medicine Coalition (PMC) in their May/June 2024 issue. The country is integrating personalized medicine into its national healthcare strategy to improve the quality of life for its population and strengthen economic development. The Personalized Medicine Coalition advocates for personalized medicine, a medical approach that tailors healthcare to individual patients based on their genetic makeup, lifestyle, and environment to create more effective treatment plans and improve outcomes.

Dr. Salha Bujassoum Al Bader, Director of the Center for Clinical Precision Medicine and Genomics at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), emphasized the importance of personalized medicine in achieving Qatar’s National Vision 2030. HMC has shown a solid commitment to personalized medicine with the establishment of the Center for Clinical Precision Medicine and Genomics, which is set to become a cornerstone in Qatar’s healthcare infrastructure and drive the nation’s goals in personalized medicine forward.

The Center for Clinical Precision Medicine and Genomics at HMC was featured in the latest issue of Personalized Medicine Today magazine, highlighting its work and commitment to advancing personalized healthcare and improving Qatar’s global positioning in precision medicine. Dr. Salha Bujassoum Al Bader expressed gratitude for the recognition and reiterated the center’s dedication to providing personalized management plans, research, education, and advocacy through cutting-edge technology and clinical initiatives.

Dr. Bujassoum highlighted the potential of personalized medicine to enhance health outcomes for all citizens in Qatar and create a proactive, predictive, and precise healthcare system. Qatar’s commitment to personalized medicine aims to elevate the standard of healthcare within the country, contribute to global research and innovation, and enhance its international standing in medical excellence. The continued investment and development in personalized medicine reflect Qatar’s dedication to fostering a healthier future for its citizens.
