Qatari Team Wins Bronze Medal at International Biology Olympiad

A team of students from Qatar recently achieved success at the 35th International Biology Olympiad, held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from July 7-14. The Qatari team won the bronze medal among 800 students from 80 countries who participated in the prestigious competition. The International Biology Olympiad is designed for students under the age of 20 from different countries, showcasing their skills and abilities in biology at an advanced academic level. The Qatari team included four students from government and international schools, along with their team leaders and supervisors.

The four students who represented Qatar at the competition are Ali Hamad Al Hammadi, Youssef Rani Al Toum, Fajr Khalid Al Muhannadi, and Mumina Joul Zar Ahmed. These students come from various schools in Qatar, including Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys, James Wellington School Qatar, Al Bayan Secondary School for Girls, and Mesaieed International Secondary School. Their success at the International Biology Olympiad reflects the high level of training and support they received from elite trainers in Qatar, including those from Qatar University, Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys, and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
