A group of 10 eleventh-level Qatari students recently had the opportunity to participate in a unique summer camp in Japan, where they engaged in a cultural and linguistic immersion experience. The camp, held at esteemed institutions such as the Human Academy of Japanese Language and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, aimed to enhance the students’ Japanese language skills and expose them to the rich cultural heritage of Japan. The program included intensive language lessons, remote lectures at Japanese universities, and cultural exchange activities with local Japanese students. Additionally, the students had the chance to explore historical sites, attend festivals, and visit universities in Japan.

The summer camp not only focused on language learning but also aimed to broaden the students’ horizons and prepare them for future educational and career opportunities in Japan. The students were encouraged to engage in various events and activities to enhance their personal characteristics and awareness of studying at higher education levels in Japan. The program was carefully designed to cater to students who were proficient in both Japanese and English, ensuring that they had a comprehensive learning and cultural exchange experience.

During the camp, the students had the opportunity to interact with supervisors and instructors from the Human Academy of Japanese Language, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the institute’s facilities and resources. The program also included visits to historic sites such as the ancient capital of Japan in the twelfth century and high schools in Japan, giving the students a firsthand experience of Japanese culture and traditions. Overall, the students were able to gain valuable insights into Japanese society and develop a deep appreciation for the country’s customs and values.

The students who participated in the summer camp shared positive feedback about their experience, highlighting the many benefits they gained from the program. They emphasized that the camp provided a unique blend of study, culture, and entertainment, allowing them to enhance their language skills while also learning important values such as respect, love of work, and appreciation of national and social values. The students also expressed their admiration for the Japanese people’s adherence to their homeland’s laws and customs, and they encouraged their peers to participate in similar language immersion activities to develop their social skills and broaden their cultural horizons.

The summer camp was supervised by Islamic education guidance specialist Mohamed Al-Sharafi from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, as well as Japanese language teacher Mahmoud Eid from Tariq Ibn Ziyad Secondary School for Boys. Their guidance and support were instrumental in ensuring that the students had a rewarding and enriching experience during their time in Japan. The students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the camp and attributed their newfound skills and values to the dedicated supervision and mentorship they received from the camp organizers.

Overall, the unique summer camp in Japan provided the Qatari students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese language and culture. The program’s focus on language learning, cultural exchange, and personal development enabled the students to gain valuable skills and insights that will benefit them in their future educational and career endeavors. With the guidance of experienced supervisors and instructors, the students were able to make the most of their time in Japan and return home with a newfound appreciation for Japanese society and a deeper understanding of global cultures.
