Qatar to face Mongolia in opening match, aiming for top spot in AFC U-17 Asian Cup

Qatar is gearing up to kick off their campaign in the 2025 AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers as they face Mongolia in their first Group F match at Aspire Academy Pitch 7. The Qualifiers feature a total of 43 teams divided into 10 groups, with the top team from each group and the five best runners-up advancing to the finals to be held in Saudi Arabia from April 3 to 20, 2025. Along with Mongolia, Qatar will also be competing against defending champions Japan and Nepal in Group F.

Qatar U-17 coach Ahmed Madouni expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and their focus on securing a victory in the opening match against Mongolia. The team is determined to perform well in the Qualifiers and earn their spot in the finals. Following their match against Mongolia, Qatar will face Nepal and Japan in their remaining group stage matches. Despite the tough competition in their group, Madouni remains optimistic about Qatar’s chances of progressing to the finals.

The Qatar U-17 team boasts a talented roster of 23 players representing various top domestic clubs in the country, such as Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Arabi, and more. This diverse selection of players brings a wealth of experience and skill to the team’s lineup, enhancing their chances of success in the Qualifiers. With their sights set on a strong start to the competition, Qatar is determined to give their best performance and secure a spot in the highly anticipated finals in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to their upcoming match against Mongolia, Japan will be facing Nepal in another Group F fixture at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium. The competition is expected to be intense as all teams are vying for a chance to advance to the finals and compete for the prestigious AFC U-17 Asian Cup title. Qatar’s coach Madouni emphasized the importance of respecting all opponents in the group while maintaining the team’s focus on their own performance and securing positive results in each match.
