Qatar SC shock Al Rayyan in thrilling quarter-final to advance to Al Gharafa showdown

In a thrilling quarter-final match between Qatar SC and Al Rayyan in the Amir Cup, Qatar SC emerged victorious in a penalty shootout after a 4-4 draw. Sataa Abdulnaser Al Abbasi’s crucial save against Al Rayyan star Roger Guedes sealed the win for Qatar SC. Despite a valiant effort, Al Rayyan ended the season without a trophy. On the other hand, Qatar SC secured a spot in the semi-finals and will be hoping to reach the final for the first time in 20 years. In another exciting quarter-final, Al Gharafa defeated Umm Salal 4-2, with Yacine Brahimi scoring a brace to lead his team to victory. In the other quarter-final match, Al Gharafa dominated early against Umm Salal, taking a commanding 3-0 lead. However, Umm Salal rallied late in the game, with Lucas Eduardo and Abdullah Khalid scoring to narrow the gap. Despite a red card for Ali Afif, Al Gharafa managed to secure a 4-2 victory, with Brahimi’s exceptional performance standing out. Brahimi’s two goals proved crucial in securing the win for Al Gharafa, who now set their sights on the semi-final. Despite Umm Salal’s valiant effort and late comeback, Al Gharafa held on to secure their spot in the next round.

Overall, the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup delivered intense and dramatic football action for fans. Both Qatar SC and Al Gharafa showcased their determination and skill to secure their spots in the semi-finals.
