Qatar was represented by Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi at the International Conference in Support of Lebanon’s People and Sovereignty in Paris. During his speech, he highlighted the challenges facing Lebanon at political, economic, and humanitarian levels. He emphasized Qatar’s support for Lebanon’s people and partners, including the United Nations and the European Union. Al Khulaifi condemned the Israeli campaign on Lebanon as a violation of international law, calling for the respect of borders, security, stability, and human rights.

The Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over recent attacks in Lebanon, stating that they posed a threat to Lebanon’s territorial integrity and political independence. He called on the international community to fulfill its duties in addressing violations of international law and implementing effective de-escalation measures. Qatar has launched an air bridge to Lebanon to deliver humanitarian aid, including medical equipment and basic materials. Cooperation with France has also been established to provide joint humanitarian aid to Lebanon.

Qatar’s commitment to supporting Lebanon includes aid to the Lebanese Armed Forces and fuel support for the Karantina Hospital, in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The country also prioritizes education during crises, with support from the ‘Education Above All Foundation’ to ensure the well-being of children and youth affected by war in Lebanon. Qatar’s World Cup legacy contributes innovative solutions to sustain education in emergency situations in Lebanon.

Qatar’s efforts in supporting Lebanon demonstrates the country’s commitment to humanitarian aid and global stability. The partnership with France and other international organizations reflects Qatar’s dedication to addressing the challenges facing Lebanon and promoting peace in the region. By providing aid, supporting education, and advocating for international law, Qatar plays a crucial role in alleviating the crisis in Lebanon and safeguarding the well-being of its people. In working together with the international community, Qatar aims to ensure the security and stability of Lebanon and the wider region.
