Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend wraps up with high-stakes races today

The final day of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend at ParisLongchamp Racecourse was full of excitement, with all eyes on the Gr1 PA Qatar Arabian Trophy des Juments won by Are’ej. The prestigious event was attended by various dignitaries and VVIPs, including HRH Prince Albert II, Prince of Monaco. The day featured nine races, including the highly anticipated Gr1 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with a prize money of €5m, the highest in the French racing program.

The event was graced by the presence of QREC Chairman Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, who crowned the winners, alongside other esteemed guests. The day showcased top-class performances, with horses like Illinois claiming victory in the QREC sponsored Gr.2 Prix Chaudenay. This colt, owned by Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier, and Michael Tabor, delivered an impressive performance, reaffirming his talent and potential.

Another standout performer was Kyprios, a six-year-old colt who won the Gr.1 Qatar Prix du Cadran for the second time, adding to his impressive track record. Trained by Aidan O’Brien and ridden by Ryan Moore, Kyprios showcased his prowess on the racetrack. Additionally, Grateful, a three-year-old filly, secured victory in the QREC sponsored Gr.1 Prix de Royallieu, further highlighting the talent and skill on display at the event.

In the Qatar Arabian Trophy Des Juments, Are’ej emerged victorious, claiming her first Group 1 (PA) victory. Trained by Xavier Thomas-Demeault, the Purebred Arabian filly showed significant improvement and promise for the future. The day also saw exciting races like the Qatar Prix Dollar, where Jayarebe secured his first Gr.2 victory, underlining his potential in the racing world.

The final and most anticipated day of the weekend featured a nine-race card with seven Group 1 races, establishing it as one of the premier events on the global racing calendar. The highlight of the day was the Gr.1 PA Qatar Arabian World Cup, offering €1m in prize money, with a thrilling challenge among top-class Arabians. The race brought together an elite field of competitors, including representatives of Al Shaqab Racing and other renowned owners and trainers.

The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe witnessed a strong lineup of runners and jockeys, including the likes of Look de Vega and Sosie, setting the stage for an intense competition. With sixteen runners vying for victory, the race promised to be a thrilling spectacle, with various contenders aiming to etch their names in racing history. The event showcased the best of international racing talent and marked a fitting conclusion to an extraordinary weekend of racing action at ParisLongchamp.
