In the women’s singles, Qatari wildcards Rokaia Elbaz and Aia Mohamed have been drawn against formidable opponents. Elbaz will face Hong Kong’s Doo Hoi Kem, while Mohamed will play fellow wildcard Yoo Yerin. These matches offer valuable experience for the Qatari players as they develop their skills on the international stage.

Doubles and Mixed Doubles Action

The doubles competitions also feature Qatari pairings. Aia Mohamed and Rokaia Elbaz will take on a Chinese duo, Qin Yuxuan and Zong Geman, in the women’s doubles Round of 16. Ahmed Korani and Sultan Al Kuwari will battle France’s Florian Bourrassaud and Lilian Bardet in the men’s doubles.

Additionally, the brothers Mohammed and Abdullah Abdulwahhab face a tough test against the second-seeded Hong Kong team of Wong Chun Ting and Chan Baldwin. The mixed doubles events see Sultan Al Kuwari and Rokaia Elbaz competing against China’s Chen Yuanyu and Kuai Man, and Mohammed Abdulwahhab and Aia Mohamed against Pang Koen and Zeng Jian.

The qualifying rounds, which concluded yesterday, were marked by intense competition and several surprising results.
