The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum in Doha has announced a new exhibition called The Race is On, which celebrates Qatar’s motorsport history and the new era of Formula 1 in the country. The exhibition will be open to the public from November 6, 2024, to April 1, 2025, at the museum’s E8 Exhibition Gallery. It will showcase the history of Formula One and rallying in Qatar, from the first Qatar Motor Rally in 1975 to the recent Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail International Circuit.

The exhibition is timed to coincide with the 2024 Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix and the 2025 Qatar International Rally, providing visitors with an exciting opportunity to explore Qatar’s growing presence in the global motorsports world. H E Sheikh Mohammed Abdulla Al Thani, President of 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, highlighted Qatar’s increasing recognition as a cultural and sporting hub and home to F1 races. The Race is On demonstrates the museum’s commitment to offering diverse cultural experiences to visitors from Qatar and around the world.

The exhibition will feature a range of historic items from the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, as well as the Silverstone Museum in the UK and other local and international lenders. Visitors can expect to see racing suits worn by Formula 1 and rally champions, trophies, tires from past races, a model of the Lusail Circuit, original and replica helmets, and more. The exhibition aims to not only showcase these items but also to educate visitors about the drivers and the stories behind them.

Abdulla Yousuf Al Mulla, Director of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, emphasized the significance of The Race is On in highlighting Qatar’s motorsport legacy and the passion and innovation of the sport. The exhibition will honor legends from F1 history and Qatar’s own rally heroes, while celebrating the country’s expanding role in international motorsports. The event is a must-visit for motorsport enthusiasts and anyone interested in learning more about Qatar’s rich motorsport heritage.

Overall, The Race is On exhibition at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is set to be a thrilling experience for visitors, offering a glimpse into Qatar’s motorsport history and its journey as a prominent player in the global motorsports scene.
