Qatar Museums kicks off the New Year with exciting programs in January 2025

Qatar Museums (QM) is starting the New Year with a bang by offering a wide range of exciting activities for visitors of all ages. In January, there will be hands-on workshops, immersive camps, and engaging storytelling sessions, providing a fun and creative start to the year. The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) will host various activities, including Story Time, Book Club, and an Escape Room experience.

The Story Time session at MIA Library will feature the story of “Snow White: An Islamic Tale” on January 6, 2025. This family-friendly event is free to attend, and registration is required. The Book Club will discuss “The Ottomans: A Cultural Legacy” on January 27, 2025, while the Escape Room experience, “The Scholars of the Islamic World,” will be ongoing until September 2, 2024. Participants can explore different facets of Islamic scholarship in themed chambers at the MIA Education Wing.

The National Museum of Qatar will also offer storytelling sessions and activities for all ages, such as “Where is My Teacher” on January 2, 2025. Additionally, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art will host workshops for teens, including an Art Adventure and a creative writing workshop inspired by the exhibition “Seeing is Believing: The Art and Influence of Gérôme.” The Fire Station: Artist in Residence will offer an interactive workshop on Ableton for beginners, teaching participants how to create their own soundtracks.

The Future Art Mill Museum is currently showcasing the Manzar: Art and Architecture from Pakistan 1940s to Today exhibition, with workshops and curator-led tours available until January 31, 2025. Participants can take part in music-making workshops with artists from the Aga Khan Music Program, as well as a winter camp inspired by the exhibition. Curator-led tours by Zarmeene Shah offer a unique opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan through art and architecture.
