Qatar is leading the way towards achieving the goals set out in the Digital Agenda 2030 by embracing new technology and constantly innovating. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Qatar highlighted three hyper trends that are driving the country towards digital transformation: HyperConnectivity, HyperComputing, and HyperAutomation. These trends aim to revolutionize multiple sectors including manufacturing, energy, tourism, logistics, financial services, and education, with the goal of generating a cumulative impact of approximately QR40bn and creating 26,000 jobs in the ICT sector by 2030.

The nation’s journey towards digital transformation aligns with its vision to diversify the economy and establish itself as a knowledge-based economy. Qatar is embedding AI into its national agenda to drive technological sovereignty, economic diversification, and secure leadership in AI innovation. The country has introduced the Al Fanar Arabic artificial intelligence project, which aims to collect quality data in the Arabic language, enrich large linguistic models, and preserve the Arab identity. With a package of incentives worth QR9bn, Qatar is committed to supporting comprehensive digital transformation.

HyperAutomation is playing a crucial role in Qatar’s digital transformation by exponentially increasing the amount of compute used in AI training runs, doubling its power every 3.4 months. This technology is responsible for driving innovation, efficiency, and creating limitless possibilities for the country’s future. To achieve the vision and mission of the Digital Agenda 2030, Qatar has developed enabling projects grouped into six strategic objectives. These objectives include cutting edge digital infrastructure, a booming digital economy, thriving digital innovation, seamless digital government, nurtured digital technologies, and future-leading digital society.

The Digital Agenda 2030 is paving the way for a bright, digital future for Qatar, positioning the country as a hub of technological excellence. Through the agenda, Qatar aims to unleash a spillover effect across all sectors of the economy, driving growth, innovation, and empowerment. The country is focused on incorporating regulatory frameworks, developing sovereign AI infrastructure, and applying AI across government and key sectors. By harnessing the unbound potential of HyperAutomation, Qatar is on a journey towards a future where the possibilities are limitless, shaping a digital landscape that is forward-thinking and innovative.

With the aim of becoming a leader in AI innovation, Qatar is implementing key strategies to support technological sovereignty, economic diversification, and secure leadership in artificial intelligence. Qatar’s digital transformation journey is supported by the three key hyper trends: HyperConnectivity, HyperComputing, and HyperAutomation, which are driving the nation towards achieving the goals of the Digital Agenda 2030. Through smart application and understanding of these trends, Qatar is poised to create and share new ideas for world-changing impact, power smart cities and cloud computing, and utilize artificial intelligence and automation to support innovation and efficiency. By embracing new technologies and driving growth in multiple sectors, Qatar is on a path towards a bright digital future.
