The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s approval in the first reading of a draft law classifying the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as a terrorist organization. This move has been viewed as a blatant violation of international laws and norms, as well as an extension of the systematic campaign aimed at dismantling the agency. At a time when the need for its humanitarian services is increasing due to the catastrophic repercussions of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, Qatar has called for the international community to stand firmly against Israeli plans to liquidate the agency and deprive millions of Palestinians in various regions of its vital services.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement emphasizing the country’s full support for UNRWA. This support is based on Qatar’s firm and supportive stance for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli Knesset’s actions highlights the country’s commitment to standing with the Palestinian people in their struggle for self-determination and the protection of their rights.

The Israeli Knesset’s move to classify UNRWA as a terrorist organization has raised concerns about the future of the agency’s humanitarian services for millions of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. UNRWA plays a crucial role in providing essential services to Palestinian refugees, including education, healthcare, and social assistance. By targeting UNRWA, Israel is not only threatening the well-being of vulnerable populations but also undermining the international community’s efforts to support Palestinian refugees and alleviate their suffering.

Qatar’s strong condemnation of the Israeli Knesset’s actions reflects the country’s commitment to upholding international laws and norms, as well as its support for multilateral organizations like UNRWA. Qatar has called on the international community to take a decisive stand against Israeli attempts to dismantle UNRWA and deny millions of Palestinians access to vital humanitarian services. By standing with UNRWA and the Palestinian people, Qatar is sending a clear message that it will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the rights and well-being of vulnerable populations in the region.

The State of Qatar’s support for UNRWA is rooted in its unwavering commitment to promoting peace, stability, and justice in the region. By defending the rights of Palestinian refugees and advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, Qatar is working towards a more equitable and just resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli Knesset’s actions is a clear demonstration of its dedication to upholding the principles of international law and protecting the rights of vulnerable populations in the Middle East.

In conclusion, Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli Knesset’s approval of a draft law classifying UNRWA as a terrorist organization underscores the country’s commitment to supporting the rights and well-being of Palestinian refugees. Qatar’s call for the international community to stand against Israeli efforts to dismantle UNRWA reflects its belief in the importance of upholding international laws and norms. By standing with UNRWA and the Palestinian people, Qatar is sending a powerful message that it will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the humanitarian services provided to vulnerable populations in the region.
