Qatar’s Ambassador to France H E Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani recently hosted the Qatari delegation participating in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games at the Qatar Embassy in Paris. Dr. Hassan Al Ansari, the head of the delegation and Secretary-General of the Qatar Federation for People with Special Needs, presented a shield to the ambassador in recognition of the support provided to the athletes. The delegation includes Sara Masud and Ali Arshad, who are gearing up for the multi-sport event with high hopes of performing well and making their country proud.

Dr. Al Ansari expressed confidence in the abilities of Sara Masud and Ali Arshad, stating that both athletes are well-prepared and eager to give their best in the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris. He mentioned that the goal for both athletes is to stand on the podium and raise the Qatari flag high, showcasing their talent and dedication to the sport. The national athletes have undergone extensive preparations under the guidance of the Qatar Paralympic Committee, ensuring that they are fully ready for the challenge ahead. Dr. Al Ansari highlighted the athletes’ recent successful performances, indicating a promising outlook for Qatar’s participation in the event.

Sara Masud, Qatar’s first female athlete to win a medal at the Paralympic Games, will be competing in the women’s shot put event with the aim of securing a gold medal for her country. Having claimed a silver medal in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Sara is no stranger to the pressure of high-level competition and will be looking to add to her collection of accolades. On the other hand, Ali Arshad is focused on the 100m and 800m wheelchair races, hoping to secure medals in these challenging events and make a mark on the international stage.

The Qatar contingent in Paris also includes Sara’s coach Walid Magmoul, Ali’s coach Nabil Al Musalmani, physiotherapist Anis Bougumoura, and Qatar Paralympic Committee’s Technical Expert Mohammed Suhail. With a strong support team behind them, Sara and Ali are well-equipped to tackle the competition and pursue success at the Paralympic Games. Qatar has a history of success at the Paralympic Games, with a total of three medals won since their debut at the 1996 Summer Paralympics in Atlanta. At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, Abdulrahman Abdulqadir secured a bronze medal for Qatar, adding to the country’s proud Paralympic legacy.

In conclusion, Qatar is poised to make a significant impact at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, with Sara Masud and Ali Arshad leading the charge for their country. Dr. Hassan Al Ansari’s confidence in the athletes’ abilities and dedication to their sport sets the stage for a successful showing from the Qatari delegation. With a strong support team and a history of medal success, Qatar is well-positioned to excel at the Paralympic Games and continue to inspire athletes and fans alike. As the competition kicks off, all eyes will be on Sara and Ali as they aim to achieve their goals and make Qatar proud on the international stage.
