This festival, also known as the festival of sacrifices, commemorates the test of faith endured by Prophet Ibrahim when he was commanded by Allah to sacrifice his son Ismail, before a lamb was provided as a substitute. This year, Eid Al Adha in Qatar is celebrated from June 16 to 20 with various events, special deals, and exciting activities perfect for families and individuals seeking leisurely experiences.
The Cultural Village Katara emerged as a prime Eid destination, attracting a large number of visitors with activities and fireworks. Over 40 diverse events, including musical and theatrical performances by groups from China, Syria, Morocco, Jordan, and other African countries, delighted visitors. The traditional Qatari Ardha dance was also showcased, along with daily musical performances by the Police Music Band Show. Children participated in artistic workshops, while artists displayed their talents and creations through live paintings.
Msheireb Downtown Doha also saw a significant turnout during Eid with families gathering to enjoy lively stage performances, roaming acts, treasure hunts, and activities like face painting at Msheireb Galleria. Souq Waqif was a bustling attraction in the evening, while shopping malls offered a plethora of activities for visitors of all ages. Mall of Qatar featured the Al Rayyan TV Kids live show, arts and crafts activities, henna, face painting, contests, and prizes. Doha Festival City entertained visitors with interactive characters’ shows, theatrical performances, circus acts, and more.
Tawar Mall hosted a variety of activities such as art and crafts for kids, stage shows, clown balloon twisting, parades, and mascot appearances. Parks across the country welcomed the public with green spaces for relaxation and outdoor activities from 5 am to 1 am. Beaches were popular destinations for those seeking relief from the heat. At Old Doha Port, a maritime traditional band performed daily, while a carnival game booths were set up for kids to enjoy. The band was located at AlBandar opposite the fish market (Chabrat Al Mina) from 6.30 PM to 10.30 PM daily until June 19.
