Qatar attends 19th ministerial meeting of Asian Cooperation Dialogue in Tehran

The State of Qatar recently participated in the 19th ministerial meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue in Tehran, Iran. The delegation was headed by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi. In his speech, HE emphasized Qatar’s commitment to the goals and values of the dialogue, stating that it is a key principle for establishing international peace and security and a pillar of Qatar’s foreign policy. He also reiterated Qatar’s support for the Palestinian cause and their right to self-determination, as well as the importance of adhering to the Doha Agreement for peace in Afghanistan, which was mediated by Qatar.

HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi highlighted Qatar’s commitment to the Asian Cooperation Dialogue during the recent ministerial meeting in Tehran. He stated that the dialogue is crucial for promoting international peace and security, and that it plays a significant role in Qatar’s foreign policy. Additionally, he reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi underscored the importance of abiding by the Doha Agreement in order to bring peace to Afghanistan. This agreement, which was announced in 2020 with Qatar’s mediation, provides a roadmap for reaching a political solution that ensures peace, stability, and prosperity for the Afghan people. By highlighting Qatar’s role in mediating such agreements, HE emphasized Qatar’s commitment to peacebuilding in the region and its dedication to promoting stability in conflicted areas.

In conclusion, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi welcomed the participating delegations to the upcoming 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit, scheduled to take place in Doha on October 2-3. This summit is expected to further discussions on regional cooperation and promote dialogue among Asian nations. Qatar’s participation in these events demonstrates its commitment to international diplomacy and its proactive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
