President Sheikh Mohamed arrived in Republic of Korea on a two-day state visit, focusing on developing the strategic partnership between the UAE and Korea. South Korea has made a direct investment of Dh8 billion in the UAE while the UAE has invested over Dh2 billion in South Korea, highlighting the strong economic ties between the two nations.
Both countries are determined to achieve further progress through economic partnerships and close people-to-people ties. The UAE is Korea’s second-largest Arab trading partner, while Korea ranks 10th in the UAE’s non-oil trade in Asia. President Sheikh Mohamed emphasized that UAE-Korean relations are a model of positive and constructive relations, with a focus on expanding horizons for the benefit of both countries and peoples.
Following his visit to Korea, Sheikh Mohamed will head to China on May 30 to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The discussions will focus on bilateral relations and opportunities for cooperation and collaboration in economic, developmental, and cultural fields. The UAE’s strong relationships with Korea and China demonstrate its commitment to fostering strong ties with key partners in the region.
