Pirelli’s Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyre has completed the ROX “25,000-Kilometre Silk Road Tour”, an 81-day expedition across three continents and 13 countries. The tyre successfully navigated diverse terrains, from paved roads to desert sands, ultimately arriving at Pirelli’s P ZERO WORLD in Dubai, demonstrating its durability and all-terrain performance.

The ROX 01 vehicles, equipped with Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres, travelled over 25,000 km, testing the tyre’s limits in various environments. The tyres’ unique groove and tread pattern provided excellent drainage and mud-shedding capabilities, ensuring consistent handling on challenging roads, such as the loose gravel of Central Asia and snowy Caucasus passes.

Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus Tyre Performance

The Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyre’s robust construction and versatile performance allowed it to adapt to different terrains. According to Pirelli, the tyre’s design enables it to maintain traction and stability on various surfaces. The tyre’s performance was put to the test during the expedition, where it demonstrated exceptional adaptability and reliability.

During the journey, Pirelli’s global support network played a crucial role in maintaining the vehicles. Service points in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Dubai provided essential maintenance and inspection services, ensuring the expedition stayed on track. The support network is a key factor in Pirelli’s ability to provide reliable tyres for challenging expeditions.

Demonstrating Versatility: On-Road and Off-Road Performance

A special demonstration co-hosted by Pirelli and ROX at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit showcased the Scorpion range’s versatility. The Scorpion MS tyres demonstrated excellent grip and rigidity, handling the instant torque of the ROX 01’s electric drive with precision on the Formula 1 track. In contrast, the Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres excelled in the surrounding desert dunes, showcasing their off-road capability.

Off-Road Capabilities

The Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyre’s ability to handle challenging off-road terrain was evident during the demonstration. The tyre’s design allows it to maintain traction and stability on loose surfaces, making it suitable for a variety of off-road applications. The tyre’s performance in the desert dunes was particularly impressive, demonstrating its ability to handle demanding terrain.

As ROX unveiled its new model, the ROX ADAMAS, equipped with Pirelli’s Scorpion All Terrain Plus and Scorpion MS featuring Elect technology, the successful completion of the 25,000-kilometre journey marked the beginning of a new chapter in the collaboration between ROX and Pirelli. The two companies are expected to continue exploring new performance frontiers together in the premium outdoor mobility sector.

Moving forward, the partnership between ROX and Pirelli is likely to lead to further innovations in tyre technology and design. While the specifics of their future projects are unclear, the successful completion of the Silk Road Tour suggests a strong foundation for their continued collaboration.
