During the recent Eid Al Adha holiday in Doha, Qatar, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) reported that a total of 16,546 patients, including citizens and residents, visited its 20 operational health centres. These patients sought medical attention at general and family medicine clinics, general dental clinics, and Urgent Units located in 11 health centres. A total of 12,297 individuals visited general and family medicine clinics, while general dental clinics received 928 patients. Additionally, Urgent Units at specific health centres managed 1,746 cases based on their urgent medical needs.

To cater to the diverse medical needs of patients during the holiday, PHCC ensured the availability of various specialized services at its health centres. These services included ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, premarital examination, pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory services. The ophthalmology clinic at Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail health centres received 169 patients, while the ENT clinic received 148 patients, and the dermatology clinic received 161 patients. The premarital examination clinic accommodated 36 patients at Leabaib, Al Mashaf, and Al Rayyan health centres.

PHCC also implemented a Community Call Center (16000) to facilitate virtual video and telephone medical consultations. A total of 527 consultations were conducted to provide urgent cases with expedited access to necessary healthcare and timely prescriptions from specialist physicians. The goal was to ensure that patients received the care they needed without delays or extended waiting times during the holiday.

Highlighting its commitment to patient care, PHCC emphasized the importance of promptly accommodating patients and meeting their needs without delay. This commitment is aligned with Qatar’s national health strategy and the national vision 2030. By delivering exceptional medical and healthcare services to both citizens and residents, PHCC aims to uphold its reputation and promote the well-being of the community it serves.
