Past legends to turn back time in first-ever Legends Intercontinental T-20 League – News

The Legends Intercontinental T-20 League is set to feature former cricket legends in an inaugural tournament scheduled to be held in Texas, USA this year. Some of the confirmed participants include former World Cup winners Graeme Swann, Tillakaratne Dilshan, and Liam Plunkett. The league is organized by USA-based Brosid Sports LLC and is scheduled to take place from August 15 to 29, 2024, at Moosa Stadium in Texas. The full roster of players will be announced closer to the tournament dates.

The launch event of the Legends Intercontinental T-20 league was attended by former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel and Australian pace sensation Brett Lee, who are also the brand ambassadors for the tournament. The league’s CEO, Vishal Sharma, unveiled the teams, tournament schedule, and marquee players for the upcoming spectacle. The tournament will see seven teams – Indo Kings, Asian Avengers, Euro Rangers, American Mavericks, Trans-Tasman Titans, African Lions, and Caribbean Vikings, competing for the inaugural title.

A total of 24 matches will be played in the tournament, with each day featuring double-headers. The semi-finals are scheduled for August 27, followed by the final on August 28. Sharma expressed his excitement about launching the Legends Intercontinental T-20 League, which aims to showcase legendary cricket stars from different continents in a thrilling cricketing spectacle. The league aims to introduce the USA market to these legendary players and create a unique cricketing experience for fans in the country.

Participants like Tillakaratne Dilshan are excited about the tournament, expressing their enthusiasm for the opportunity to compete with former rivals and share memories from their playing days. Brett Lee also shared his excitement about reconnecting with players he competed against throughout his career, highlighting the camaraderie and fun that events like this bring to former players. The Legends Intercontinental T-20 League promises to be a cricket extravaganza, bringing together some of the greatest cricketing talents from around the world for an exciting and nostalgic tournament.
