Dubai recently hosted the UAE-China Business Forum, with Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, in attendance. Over 300 delegates participated in the event, which aimed to enhance economic and trade relations between the UAE and China. The Chinese delegation was led by Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of China. Organised by Dubai Chambers and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), the Forum brought together businessmen and investors from both countries to discuss mutual investments and partnerships.

During the Forum, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, highlighted the strong and strategic relationship between the UAE and China. He emphasized the importance of cooperation across various sectors, particularly in economic and investment areas. The UAE and China share a commitment to advancing bilateral relations through mutual investments and cooperation. Bin Touq encouraged Chinese companies to take advantage of the business opportunities available in the UAE’s diverse economic sectors, such as tourism, aviation, FinTech, and healthcare.

The tourism industry serves as a key pillar of economic cooperation between the UAE and China, with a significant increase in the number of Chinese visitors to the UAE in recent years. Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, underscored the importance of China as the UAE’s top trading partner and the growing significance of the Chinese market. He mentioned the establishment of three overseas offices in China by Dubai International Chamber to enhance investment opportunities and facilitate trade exchanges. The Forum featured panel discussions on joint investments, partnership frameworks, energy sector collaborations, and opportunities for cross-investment and trade.

The event reflects the strong momentum achieved during the Dubai Business Forum – China, held in Beijing in August. This international edition attracted prominent Chinese business leaders, investors, and officials, along with representatives from key government entities and the private sector from Dubai. The discussions highlighted the opportunities available for Chinese businesses and investors as a result of Dubai’s D33 agenda. The Forum serves as a platform to strengthen economic and investment relations between the UAE and China and build fruitful partnerships in various sectors.

Overall, the UAE-China Business Forum aimed to boost economic ties and mutual investments between the two countries. The event signifies the commitment of both the UAE and China to furthering their strategic relationship through constructive cooperation. The Forum provided a platform for Emirati and Chinese companies to explore new opportunities for cooperation in key sectors such as tourism, aviation, FinTech, and healthcare. With a focus on enhancing cross-investment and trade, the event showcased successful businesses that have expanded their operations in China and the UAE. The strong participation and engagement at the Forum highlight the growing importance of the UAE-China relationship and the potential for further collaboration in the future.
