OQ Salalah, a company under OQ Group based in the Dhofar Governorate, recently unveiled its new brand identity, OQ Basic Industries (OQBi). The rebranding ceremony was attended by top officials, including the Group CEO of OQ and the Chief Executive Commercial & Downstream. This new identity aims to solidify the company’s strategy to maximize investment returns in the region and establish a unique corporate identity for its subsidiaries both domestically and internationally.

The new brand identity for OQ Basic Industries represents three major facilities in the Salalah Free Zone in Dhofar, including an ammonia plant, a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant, and a methanol plant. These facilities play a significant role in Oman’s industrial sector by advancing clean manufacturing processes and boosting exports. The ammonia plant produces ammonia for various industries, the methanol plant supplies methanol for industrial applications, and the LPG plant enhances the gas value chain by producing propane, butane, and condensates.

With a vision of “Leadership through global solutions and exceptional talent,” the launch of OQ Basic Industries brand signifies the company’s commitment to driving growth, implementing best practices, and maintaining a competitive edge in global markets. The new brand aligns with OQ Group’s ambition to pursue sustainable growth and operational excellence by fostering a people-centric culture, advancing decarbonisation initiatives, enhancing energy efficiency, and promoting local development. This commitment to continuous improvement and clean energy industries contributes to sustainability, economic diversification, and future investment opportunities.

The Managing Director of OQ Basic Industries, Engineer Khalid Khalfan Al Asmi, expressed pride in the company’s new identity, emphasizing its dedication to economic diversification and maximizing returns. The company’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and growth opportunities align with global and local economic trends. OQ Basic Industries also takes pride in its contributions to the local economy, with investments in SMEs and community projects aimed at supporting various initiatives in children, education, health, the environment, youth, heritage, and other community sectors.

In conclusion, the launch of OQ Basic Industries brand marks a pivotal step in solidifying the company’s economic presence in the region and empowering the industrial sector. With a focus on sustainability, economic diversification, and community engagement, OQ Basic Industries is committed to driving growth, implementing best practices, and maintaining a competitive edge in global markets. The company’s dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability while supporting the local economy reaffirms its position as a key player in Oman’s industrial sector.
