Oman’s National Programme for Digital Economy is leading the country towards a digital future, as explored in a new report by Oxford Business Group in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology. Investment in AI and cybersecurity is also prioritized to ensure Oman remains at the cutting edge of technological innovation. Minister of Transport, Communications and IT, Said Al Mawali, emphasized the importance of the digital economy in meeting the long-term objectives of Oman Vision 2040, the country’s socio-economic blueprint. Government entities understand the importance of the digital economy in spurring innovation, enhancing digital infrastructure, stimulating growth in the digital content industry, and utilizing Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.

The report also highlights Oman’s commitment to becoming a leader in the digital economy, positioning the country as a competitive player in the global technology landscape and boosting productivity in government and the corporate sector. The report includes exclusive interviews with key figures such as Minister of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion, CEO of Central Bank of Oman, and Undersecretary for Communications and IT at MTCIT, providing valuable insights into the economic developments taking place across various sectors and regions. The report showcases the strategic initiatives driving Oman’s significant progress in developing a robust digital economy, setting the stage for future growth and competitiveness.
