Omani Hajj delegation departs for Saudi Arabia today

The Omani Hajj mission departed from Muscat for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday, June 2, 2024. The mission, led by Sultan bin Saeed Al Hinai, is set to head to the mission headquarters in Mecca after arriving in Jeddah. The delegation will serve pilgrims and oversee their rituals during its time in Mecca and Medina. The mission consists of various delegations including fatwa and religious guidance, administrative and financial, supervisory of Hajj companies, medical, Royal Oman Police, State Audit Institution, media, and scouts.

Preparations for the Mina and Arafat camps are ongoing and expected to provide an improved atmosphere for pilgrims to perform their rituals. The camps, temporary structures for receiving pilgrims, will aim to alleviate any difficulties faced by the pilgrims. This year, the number of pilgrims from Oman has reached 14,000, including 13,500 Omanis, 250 Arab residents, and 250 expats. Additionally, the number of Hajj companies for this year has reached 31.

Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, was present at the Muscat International Airport to see off the members of the delegation. The Omani Hajj mission’s main goal is to assist pilgrims and guests during their time in Mecca and Medina, ensuring that their Hajj journey is smooth and facilitated. The head of the Omani Hajj mission confirmed the progress of preparations for the camps and emphasized the additional improvements that will be implemented to enhance the pilgrims’ experience.

The Omani Hajj mission plays a crucial role in providing support and guidance to pilgrims, with various delegations focusing on different aspects of the pilgrimage. The mission consists of delegations in religion, administration, finance, supervision of Hajj companies, medical services, police, auditing, media, and scouting. The number of pilgrims from Oman this year has reached 14,000, with a mix of Omanis, Arab residents, and expats, showing the diversity of the attendees coming to perform Hajj.

The preparations for the Mina and Arafat camps are essential to ensure that the pilgrims have a comfortable and meaningful experience during their time in Saudi Arabia. These temporary camps will have additional improvements to enhance the atmosphere and alleviate any challenges faced by the pilgrims while they perform their rituals. With 31 Hajj companies operating this year, the Omani Hajj mission is well-equipped to manage the large number of pilgrims and provide them with the necessary support and services throughout their journey.
