Oman takes part in the 15th session of the ESCWA Social Development Committee in Cairo

The Sultanate of Oman recently participated in the 15th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in Cairo. Represented by the Ministry of Social Development, Oman’s delegation was led by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, the Minister of Social Development. The meeting focused on the issue of rising inequalities stemming from consecutive crises in certain countries and specific population segments in the Arab region. Additionally, discussions centered around finding solutions to common challenges, monitoring progress in the field of social development, and implementing recommendations from the ESCWA committee’s 14th session.

One of the main topics of discussion during the ESCWA session was the growing problem of inequalities within the Arab region. The delegation from Oman, led by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, took part in addressing this issue and exploring potential solutions. The meeting aimed to identify ways to combat escalating inequalities that have arisen as a result of crises in certain countries and segments of the population. By participating in these discussions, Oman demonstrated its commitment to addressing social development challenges and promoting equality within the region.
