Oman head coach Rasheed Jaber is feeling confident as his team prepares to face Saudi Arabia in the semi-final of the Khaleeji Zain 26 tournament. Jaber emphasized the importance of paying attention to even the smallest details and maintaining mental strength to secure a win. The match is set to take place at the Jaber Al-Mubarak International Stadium in Kuwait, with both teams eager to advance to the final.

Having performed impressively in the tournament so far, Oman secured the top spot in Group A with a victory over Qatar and draws against Kuwait and the UAE. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia has been gaining momentum after an opening defeat to Bahrain. Jaber acknowledged that Saudi Arabia has a strong team with a rich history, but he believes that his players’ focus and mental strength will be key in determining the outcome of the match.

Although Saudi Arabia has been supported by a strong fan base throughout the tournament, Tuesday’s semi-final will be held at the smaller Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium, accommodating 15,000 spectators. Jaber expressed his team’s readiness to face Saudi Arabia, even if they are outnumbered in the stands. He emphasized the importance of playing to their strengths and disrupting Saudi Arabia’s game plan in order to secure a victory.

Despite facing some challenges with injuries leading up to the semi-final, Jaber expressed full confidence in his squad’s ability to win their third Gulf Cup title. Oman’s last triumph in the tournament came in 2018, and Jaber is eager for his team to make it to the final after putting in a lot of effort. He stated that his team is prepared for a tough 90 minutes, potential extra time, or even a penalty shootout, highlighting the importance of mental focus in such high-stakes games.

In the other semi-final match, hosts Kuwait will be facing Group B winners Bahrain at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. With both matches promising thrilling action, the tournament is nearing its exciting finale. The stage is set for an intense showdown between Oman and Saudi Arabia, as both teams battle it out for a spot in the final. Jaber’s confidence in his team’s abilities and his emphasis on mental strength will be put to the test as they aim to secure victory and advance in the tournament.
