The Sultanate of Oman recently joined the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) during a meeting between Idris Abdul Rahman Al Khanjari and Ismail Ersahin in Geneva. The two discussed ways to promote investment in Oman and maximize the use of WAIPA’s services. They also talked about the possibility of Oman hosting the 2025 World Investment Conference. Al Khanjari emphasized the importance of Oman’s accession to WAIPA and the efforts made to modernize the foreign investment system. He highlighted Oman’s unique investment structure, strategic location, and world-class infrastructure, making it an attractive destination for investments.

WAIPA’s Executive Director stressed the Association’s main objective of strengthening the capacities of its members to attract quality investments and promote communication among different IPAs. Oman’s membership in WAIPA is seen as a way to open the Omani market to international markets and enhance economic cooperation with Geneva-based organizations. This move is expected to boost investment in Oman and facilitate partnerships with global investors.

Oman’s strategic location and proximity to important global markets make it an attractive destination for investments. The country’s world-class infrastructure, including ports, free economic zones, and industrial zones, further enhances its appeal to investors. By joining WAIPA, Oman aims to leverage its unique investment structure and location to attract more foreign investment and boost economic growth.

WAIPA’s role in promoting investment and facilitating communication among IPAs is crucial for Oman’s efforts to attract quality investments. The Association’s services and partnerships are expected to help Oman maximize its potential as an investment destination. By hosting the 2025 World Investment Conference, Oman will have the opportunity to showcase its investment opportunities and strengthen its economic ties with global partners.

Overall, Oman’s membership in WAIPA is a significant step towards enhancing its investment climate and attracting more foreign investors. By leveraging its unique investment structure, strategic location, and world-class infrastructure, Oman is positioning itself as an attractive destination for investments. The cooperation between Oman and WAIPA is expected to boost economic growth and foster partnerships with international investors.
