The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus have been developing strong relations and mutual cooperation in various fields. Hamoud Salim Al Tuwaih, the Ambassador of Oman to Russia and also non-resident Ambassador to Belarus, highlighted the importance of the recent visit of Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko to Oman. This visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, culture, education, and investments. Al Tuwaih emphasized that the two countries have signed multiple agreements over the years to promote and protect investment, economic and commercial cooperation, political consultations, avoidance of double taxation, and cooperation between chambers of commerce.

The Ambassador mentioned that bilateral relations between Oman and Belarus were established in 1992, and since then, there have been various high-level visits and political consultations to further strengthen ties. The two countries are now exploring opportunities to expand cooperation in economy, trade, investment, technology, energy, and alternative energy. Currently, bilateral cooperation also encompasses education and research through student and researcher exchanges, as well as innovation, technology, and cultural exchange. Efforts have been made to organize joint cultural events and support the tourism sector to attract more investments.

One of the significant collaborations between Oman and Belarus is in the field of heritage and culture. An agreement was signed in 2016 to establish a Centre for Arabic Language and Culture at Minsk State University, offering opportunities for students to study Arabic language at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman. Moreover, in April 2018, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Muscat focusing on heritage and culture, while another memorandum was signed between the National Museum of Oman and the Natural History Museum of Belarus to enhance cultural and museum activities. These initiatives aim to further strengthen cultural ties between the two nations.

In addition to cultural collaborations, the two countries have also been progressing in the tourism sector. Joint efforts have been made to support tourism and expand investments in this field. Both Oman and Belarus have been organizing cultural events and taking steps to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector. This sector plays a crucial role in boosting the economies of both countries and attracting visitors from different parts of the world.

Apart from cultural and tourism collaborations, Oman and Belarus have been focusing on educational exchange programs. The two countries have been promoting student and researcher exchanges and offering opportunities for learning and research in various fields. By exchanging knowledge and expertise in education and research, Oman and Belarus aim to enhance their academic institutions and foster innovation and technology in their respective countries.

Overall, the diplomatic relations between Oman and Belarus have been flourishing over the years, with significant progress made in various sectors such as economy, trade, culture, education, and tourism. Both countries have shown a commitment to deepening their cooperation and collaboration through mutual agreements and high-level visits. The future looks promising for Oman and Belarus as they continue to explore new avenues of partnership and strengthen their ties for mutual benefit and prosperity.
