Doha, Qatar – Old Doha Port has unveiled a comprehensive events calendar for the 2025-2026 season, aiming to establish itself as a year-round destination for entertainment, leisure, and cultural experiences. The program features a diverse range of festivals, maritime activities, and sporting events designed to celebrate Qatari heritage and capitalize on the country’s growing tourism sector. This ambitious schedule seeks to attract both regional and international visitors, particularly during major sporting championships.
According to a press conference held by the port authority, the six-month program will run from late 2025 through mid-2026. Engineer Mohammed Abdulla Al Mulla, CEO of Old Doha Port, stated the calendar reflects a commitment to enriching Qatar’s community and maritime landscape while contributing to the nation’s tourism goals. The port anticipates a significant influx of guests as Qatar prepares to host the FIFA Arab Cup 2025.
Old Doha Port Gears Up for FIFA Arab Cup 2025 and Beyond
A key focus of the upcoming season is supporting the FIFA Arab Cup 2025. Old Doha Port is offering a specialized berthing package for yacht and boat owners traveling to Qatar for the tournament, including exclusive match tickets. This initiative, coupled with the recently launched Minakom digital service for streamlined port entry and departure, is intended to position the port as a premier destination for luxury vessels during the event.
Beyond berthing, the port will host multiple fan zones. A large Fan Zone will be located within the Mina District, complemented by roaming performances. Another fan zone will be situated in Mina Park, opposite the Containers Yard, and will be transformed into an immersive entertainment space with live match screenings and family-friendly activities.
Cultural and Sporting Highlights
The calendar extends beyond football, showcasing a variety of cultural and sporting events. The Al Rasta Festival, scheduled for December 17-19, will introduce a dynamic cultural celebration to the port. The prestigious World Arabian Horse Championship Qatar 2025, the Digital Creator Awards, and Polo Al Marsa are also slated to take place during the winter months, offering world-class entertainment and premium experiences.
National celebrations will also be prominently featured. Qatar National Day festivities will transform the waterfront into a gathering place for residents and visitors. Additionally, the port will host activities aligned with National Sports Day, promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity. Traditional observances like Musaher Al Mina, the Iftar Cannon, Garangao Night, and Wada’a Ramadan will continue throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The port will also host the Throwback Food Festival, celebrating Qatar’s culinary heritage, alongside Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha celebrations. Looking toward the later part of the season, the annual Fishing Exhibition and Competition will return in late March, highlighting Qatar’s seafaring traditions and supporting local craftsmanship. Furthermore, the Mina Pre-Owned Boat Show, planned for May, aims to revitalize interest in Qatar’s coastal lifestyle by offering marine equipment at competitive prices.
These events will contribute to the growth of Qatar tourism and support related sectors such as hospitality and retail. The port’s development aligns with the country’s broader national strategy to diversify its economy and become a significant hub for international events. The success of the first edition of the Fishing Exhibition demonstrates the public’s appetite for events that blend cultural preservation with modern entertainment.
Looking ahead, the port authority will focus on the logistical preparations required to accommodate the anticipated influx of visitors during the FIFA Arab Cup 2025. Ongoing infrastructure improvements and the refinement of services like Minakom are expected to continue throughout the year. The long-term impact of these events on Qatar’s tourism sector and its ability to attract future international championships remains to be seen, but the port’s ambitious calendar signals a strong commitment to growth and innovation.
