Doha, Qatar – Old Doha Port is preparing to be a central hub for the FIFA Arab Cup 2025, unveiling a comprehensive program of events and services designed to enhance the experience for fans arriving by land and sea. The activations, running from December 1st to 18th, will include a dedicated Fan Zone, cultural performances, and live broadcasting from AlKass TV, solidifying the Port’s role as a key destination during the tournament. This initiative aims to provide a vibrant and accessible experience for all attendees.

The program, launched under the banner “From the Port, the Journey Begins,” focuses on creating a festive atmosphere and streamlining access to the Arab Cup for regional and international visitors. According to a press release from Old Doha Port, the goal is to showcase Qatar’s hospitality and maritime capabilities during this significant sporting event. The preparations reflect Qatar’s continued investment in infrastructure following its successful hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Old Doha Port Gears Up for the FIFA Arab Cup 2025

A key component of the Port’s plan is the establishment of a large Fan Zone at Mina Park, situated opposite the Containers Yard. This area will feature large screens broadcasting all matches live, complemented by a variety of food and beverage options. The waterfront location is intended to provide a scenic and enjoyable viewing experience for fans.

Additionally, the Mina District will host daily cultural performances and roaming entertainment from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM throughout the tournament. These showcases are designed to offer a family-friendly atmosphere and highlight the region’s rich cultural heritage. The Port anticipates a significant influx of visitors during this period.

Enhanced Accessibility and Luxury Services

Recognizing the importance of seamless transportation, Old Doha Port has partnered with Brooq Tourism to launch the Mina Link water shuttle. This service will connect key areas within the Port, including the Mina District and the Containers Yard, providing a convenient alternative to land-based transport. This is part of a broader effort to improve tournament logistics.

For those arriving by sea, the Port is offering exclusive berthing packages that combine luxury marina access with premium match tickets. This caters to a high-end clientele and leverages the Port’s unique capability to host superyachts up to 180 meters in length. As Qatar’s only marina capable of accommodating vessels of this size, Old Doha Port is positioning itself as the premier maritime gateway for the event.

Furthermore, AlKass TV will broadcast live from a dedicated studio within the Port, establishing it as a central hub for news, analysis, and discussion surrounding the Arabian Gulf Cup. This presence is expected to draw media attention and further enhance the Port’s profile during the tournament. The broadcasting setup will provide a platform for expert commentary and fan engagement.

The Qatar tourism sector is expected to benefit from the increased visitor numbers associated with the Arab Cup. Hotels, restaurants, and other businesses in and around Doha are preparing for a surge in demand. The Port’s initiatives are aligned with Qatar’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and promote tourism.

However, the success of these plans will depend on factors such as overall ticket sales and the logistical coordination of transportation and accommodation. The Port is working closely with relevant authorities to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Security measures are also being enhanced to maintain a safe environment.

Looking ahead, the Port will continue to refine its offerings based on feedback from visitors and stakeholders. A post-tournament evaluation will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of the activations and identify areas for improvement. Future developments may include expanding the marina facilities and introducing new entertainment options, potentially impacting Doha’s waterfront development. The long-term impact on the Port’s role in hosting major sporting events remains to be seen.

The next step involves finalizing the operational details and coordinating with security personnel and event staff. The Port is also monitoring travel trends and adjusting its capacity accordingly. Ongoing assessments of the situation will be crucial in ensuring a successful event.
