The Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has recently launched three sustainable projects as part of its commitment to social responsibility and sustainable goals aimed at creating a positive impact on Omani society. These initiatives are designed to provide essential support to various community organizations and improve the quality of life for individuals, enhancing their integration into the local community for a more prosperous future for the Sultanate of Oman. The sustainability projects included supporting the Omani Association for the Disabled, providing 55 wheelchairs to people with disabilities, supporting the Omani Association for the Hearing Impaired by providing 20 advanced hearing aids, and supporting the Omani Cancer Association by providing 8 advanced models to support awareness campaigns about breast cancer.

Samira Salem Al-Mughairi, Communication and Sustainability Manager at OETC, highlighted the various initiatives, projects, and plans the company is working on to achieve a sustainable positive impact on the local community and its members. She emphasized the company’s ongoing efforts to achieve targets in various aspects of sustainability, especially environmental, social, and governance sustainability. Al Mughairi stated that OETC is committed to supporting progress in vital fields impacting the local community and its members, aiming to support various sectors through initiatives rather than focusing on a specific sector. The company’s commitment to sustainability is evident through the various sustainable projects launched in previous years, with ongoing efforts to achieve environmental, social, and governance sustainability (ESG) for a sustainable future for Oman and its people.

OETC, a member of the Nama Group, is the only company responsible for the transmission and control of electricity across the Sultanate’s network. The transmission network operates at a voltage of 132kV and above to cover most of the governorates in the Sultanate, managing interconnection lines between Oman and the GCC interconnection network at a voltage of 220kV. The sustainable projects launched by OETC, supporting organizations for people with disabilities, hearing impairments, and cancer awareness, demonstrate the company’s commitment to promoting social responsibility and sustainable development for the benefit of Omani society. By providing essential support and resources to these community organizations, OETC is actively working towards enhancing the quality of life and integration of individuals in the local community, contributing to a more prosperous and sustainable future for the Sultanate of Oman.

Through its sustained efforts and initiatives, OETC continues to strive towards achieving its sustainability targets in environmental, social, and governance aspects. The company’s commitment to supporting the community and launching projects that create a positive impact reflect its dedication to promoting sustainable development in Oman. By focusing on various sectors and initiatives that benefit the local community, OETC aims to contribute towards creating a more sustainable future for the Sultanate and its people. The launch of sustainable projects that provide support to organizations for individuals with disabilities, hearing impairments, and cancer awareness underscores OETC’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable goals, demonstrating its efforts to make a meaningful difference in Omani society through impactful initiatives and projects.

In summary, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has launched three sustainable projects aimed at supporting community organizations and improving the quality of life for individuals in the Sultanate of Oman. Through initiatives such as providing wheelchairs for people with disabilities, hearing aids for individuals with hearing impairments, and models for cancer awareness, OETC is actively working towards promoting social responsibility and sustainable development in the local community. The company’s commitment to achieving sustainability targets in environmental, social, and governance aspects underscores its dedication to creating a positive impact on Omani society for a more prosperous and sustainable future. With ongoing efforts and initiatives, OETC continues to strive towards supporting progress in vital fields impacting the local community, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability through every project and initiative launched for the benefit of Oman and its people.
