Former US Open champions Naomi Osaka, Bianca Andreescu, and Stan Wawrinka have all received singles main draw wildcards for the upcoming US Open tournament. Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam winner, returned to competition earlier this year after the birth of her daughter and has performed well in recent events. Andreescu, the 2019 US Open champion, has also made a successful comeback after a nine-month hiatus due to a back injury. Wawrinka, a three-time Grand Slam winner, will be making his 72nd main draw appearance at the US Open, putting him fifth on the all-time list.

In addition to the former champions, Austrian Dominic Thiem, the 2020 US Open winner, has also been granted a wildcard entry. Thiem recently announced that he will be retiring from professional tennis in 2024 due to a wrist injury, making this year’s US Open potentially one of his last major tournaments. The US Open is scheduled to take place in New York from August 26 to September 8, providing fans with an exciting opportunity to see some of the top players in the world compete on the Grand Slam stage.

Naomi Osaka, known for her powerful game and mental resilience, will be looking to add to her Grand Slam collection at this year’s US Open. Having already won the tournament twice, in 2018 and 2020, Osaka is considered one of the favorites to lift the trophy once again. Her return to form after taking time off to focus on her personal life has been impressive, with strong showings at WTA 1000 events this season. Fans can expect to see some exciting matches from the Japanese star as she aims to continue her success on the hard courts of Flushing Meadows.

Bianca Andreescu, who burst onto the scene in 2019 with her US Open triumph, has faced challenges with injuries in recent years but has shown that she has the talent and determination to compete at the highest level. After a solid performance at the French Open this year, Andreescu will be looking to make her mark once again at the US Open. With her unique playing style and never-say-die attitude, the Canadian star could be a dark horse in the tournament and a player to watch as the action unfolds in New York.

Stan Wawrinka, a veteran of the game and a former US Open champion, will be eager to make his mark once again on the Grand Slam stage. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record in major events, Wawrinka has the ability to compete with the best players in the world. His wildcard entry into this year’s tournament gives him the opportunity to showcase his skills and challenge for another title at Flushing Meadows. Fans can expect to see some classic Wawrinka moments as he battles it out on the hard courts of New York.

With a star-studded lineup that includes former champions and rising stars, the US Open promises to deliver thrilling tennis action for fans around the world. As one of the most prestigious events in the sport, the tournament attracts top players from across the globe who are eager to compete for the coveted title. With the likes of Osaka, Andreescu, Wawrinka, and Thiem in the mix, fans can expect high-quality matches, intense rivalries, and unforgettable moments on the courts of Arthur Ashe Stadium. The US Open is set to be a must-watch event for tennis enthusiasts and sports fans alike, as the world’s best players battle it out for glory in the Big Apple.
