Gary Kirsten has recently been appointed as the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, joining them in Leeds ahead of their upcoming four-match T20I series against England. Team manager Wahab Riaz, captain Babar Azam, and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood welcomed Kirsten and presented him with a team jersey. Kirsten joined the team after his stint with the IPL team Gujarat Titans.

Kirsten brings a wealth of experience to the table, having previously served as the head coach of India from 2008 to 2011. During his tenure, India won the 2011 World Cup and became the number one team in the ICC Test rankings. Now, Kirsten will look to replicate that success with the Pakistan team as they prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The T20I series against England will serve as a vital preparation for the team.

The T20I series is set to begin on May 22 in Headingley Carnegie and conclude on May 30 in London. Pakistan is the only team out of 19 that has not announced its squad for the upcoming marquee event in June in the USA and the West Indies. The squad for the series against England includes players like Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and others.

With Kirsten at the helm, Pakistan will look to fine-tune their skills and strategies in preparation for the T20 World Cup. The experience and success that Kirsten brings to the team make him a valuable asset in their quest for glory on the world stage. As the team gears up for the series against England, fans and experts will be watching closely to see how Kirsten’s coaching impacts their performance on the field.
