Muraad emerges victorious in the QREC-sponsored Qatar Derby in France

Ioritz Mendizabal led Muraad to victory in the Gr1 PA Qatar Derby des Pur-Sang Arabes de 4 Ans at Chantilly, France. The event, sponsored by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), saw 11 four-year-old Arabian runners competing for the prestigious title. Muraad, a Gr.3 (PA) Sheikh Mansoor Festival winner, emerged victorious in the 2,000m black-type race, defeating tough competition including the favorite Luwsail, owned by Al Shaqab Racing. Trained by Damien De Watrigant, Muraad showcased his courage and speed, securing his position as a Gr.1 (PA) champion.

Asian Equestrian Federation President and QREC Vice Chairman Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiya presented the trophies to the winners of the QREC-sponsored event. Under the guidance of Mendizabal, Muraad took the lead and maintained his position throughout the race. Despite a late challenge from Extra Time, Muraad crossed the finish line first, winning by a neck. Luwsail finished third in the race, showcasing the competitive field of four-year-old Arabian runners. The demanding race tested Muraad’s courage and determination, highlighting his exceptional qualities as a top-class racehorse.

Muraad’s trainer shared his insights after the race, emphasizing the horse’s courage and determination to win. With Mendizabal as his loyal partner, Muraad displayed his ability to lead from the front and hold off challengers in the final stretch. The talented chestnut, bred by Yas Horse Racing Management, showed his versatility and speed, making him a formidable competitor in the world of Arabian horse racing. The victory at Chantilly solidified Muraad’s reputation as a top contender in black-type races, proving his capability to excel in high-stakes competitions.

The thrilling race at Chantilly witnessed a display of skill and determination from Muraad and his jockey Mendizabal. As the main danger to the favored Luwsail, Muraad showcased his potential as a Gr.1 (PA) winner, capturing the hearts of fans and spectators. The demanding nature of the 2,000m race tested the endurance and agility of the Arabian runners, highlighting the athleticism and training that goes into preparing for such prestigious events. With a strong team behind him, including owner and breeder Yas Horse Racing Management, Muraad emerged victorious, cementing his status as a rising star in the world of Arabian horse racing.
