The Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion in Muscat recently conducted a series of inspection campaigns on shops and filling stations in preparation for the Khareef Dhofar 2024 season. The objective of these campaigns was to guarantee the provision of quality services to consumers and to evaluate the compliance of commercial and service establishments with the Ministry’s regulations. As a result of these inspections, 131 commercial establishments were issued violation reports for not having electronic payment devices as required by Ministry regulations to facilitate consumer transactions.

The Inspection Department of the Ministry visited and assessed the service levels at numerous fuel stations located along various routes in the Dhofar Governorate. A total of 59 gas stations were inspected, and warnings were issued to 10 stations for failing to meet the standards and requirements established by the Ministry. These regular inspections are crucial in ensuring that gas stations adhere to approved standards, provide high-quality services, and offer essential requirements to consumers. The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to conducting ongoing inspection campaigns to uphold compliance with Ministerial Resolution No. 386/2022, which mandates the use of electronic payment services across different commercial activities.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion is committed to monitoring gas stations continuously to guarantee efficient and quality services for consumers. The Ministry’s focus on ensuring compliance with regulations and standards aims to enhance consumer satisfaction and promote transparency in commercial activities. By conducting regular inspections and issuing warnings for violations, the Ministry seeks to improve the overall service levels at gas stations and reinforce adherence to established requirements. These initiatives are part of the Ministry’s efforts to create a conducive environment for businesses and consumers alike during the upcoming Khareef Dhofar 2024 season.

The Ministry’s inspection campaigns play a crucial role in upholding consumer rights and ensuring fair practices in the commercial sector. By issuing violation reports for non-compliance with electronic payment device requirements, the Ministry aims to protect consumers and enhance their overall shopping experience. Additionally, the focus on evaluating service levels at gas stations highlights the Ministry’s commitment to promoting efficiency and quality in the provision of services to consumers. The Ministry’s dedication to ongoing monitoring and enforcement of regulations underscores its commitment to fostering a transparent and consumer-friendly business environment in Muscat.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion’s recent inspection campaigns on shops and gas stations in Muscat are essential in enhancing consumer protection and promoting compliance with regulations.
