The Ministry of Social Development in Bahrain recently released statistics that show an increase in the number of beneficiaries receiving social assistance programs. Among the programs with a rise in recipients is the Meat Allowance program, which saw 993 new families benefitting from it. In addition, the Disability Allowance program also welcomed 175 new recipients.

Between July 1st and September 30th, 2024, the number of families benefiting from the Meat Allowance program reached 185,807, marking an increase of 993 families compared to the previous quarter. Similarly, the Cost of Living Allowance program had 132,947 families receiving assistance, a slight decrease from the previous quarter where 133,540 families were beneficiaries.

The Ministry of Social Development reported a total of 175 new beneficiaries for the Disability Allowance program, bringing the total number of recipients to 14,413 in July. This is an increase from the previous quarter where 14,238 individuals were receiving the allowance. The statistics also revealed that there are currently 674 licensed non-governmental organizations operating in Bahrain, indicating a strong presence of charitable entities in the country.

These statistics highlight the importance of social assistance programs in Bahrain and the increasing number of individuals and families relying on these programs for support. The government’s efforts to expand and improve these programs are evident from the rise in beneficiaries, particularly in programs like the Meat Allowance and Disability Allowance.

The rise in beneficiaries of the Meat Allowance program signifies the government’s commitment to providing essential assistance to families in need, especially in times of financial strain. Similarly, the increase in recipients of the Disability Allowance program reflects the efforts to support individuals with disabilities and ensure they receive the necessary assistance for their well-being.

Overall, the statistics released by the Ministry of Social Development shed light on the positive impact of social assistance programs in Bahrain and the government’s dedication to supporting vulnerable populations. With an increasing number of beneficiaries in various programs, it is evident that these initiatives play a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and inclusion of all individuals in Bahrain.
