MOI completes two training courses on countering terrorism and protecting industrial facilities

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) in Doha, Qatar recently concluded the Open Source Intelligence Course to Combat Terrorism, a five-day program organized by the Police Officers Institute at the Police Academy. The course was attended by 23 officers from various departments of the ministry, the Amiri Guard, and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) with the goal of equipping participants with the skills, expertise, and knowledge needed to combat terrorism financing crimes. Key topics covered included the concept of terrorism, its characteristics and types, modern methods of collecting information and data, and efforts to prevent the risks associated with these crimes.

In addition to the Open Source Intelligence Course, MOI also celebrated the graduation of the Vital Industrial Facilities Protection Course (Level Four) on the same day. This course was attended by 27 members of the General Department of Industrial Security as well as other entities. The primary objective of the Vital Industrial Facilities Protection Course was to prepare participants for mid-level security leadership roles by providing them with the practical knowledge and skills necessary to effectively identify, analyze, and manage security risks and threats. This training is essential in ensuring the protection of vital industrial facilities from potential security threats.

The Open Source Intelligence Course to Combat Terrorism covered a wide range of topics relevant to combating terrorism financing crimes. Participants learned about the concept of terrorism, its various characteristics and types, and modern methods for collecting information and data to prevent these crimes. The course also focused on other important related topics aimed at enhancing the participants’ ability to identify and combat threats associated with terrorism. By providing officers with the necessary knowledge and skills, the course aimed to strengthen the Ministry of Interior’s efforts in combating terrorism-related activities.

The graduation of the Vital Industrial Facilities Protection Course (Level Four) marked an important milestone for the 27 participants who completed the program. By receiving training in security leadership positions, the participants are now equipped with the practical knowledge and skills needed to effectively identify, analyze, and manage security risks and threats. This training is essential for individuals responsible for protecting vital industrial facilities, ensuring that they are well-prepared to address potential security challenges and protect these critical infrastructure assets from potential threats.
