Al Hilal’s forward, Aleksandar Mitrovic, played a crucial role in their 3-1 victory over Al Ittihad in the 2024-25 Roshn Saudi League. The highly anticipated Saudi Clasico started off with an explosive start when N’Golo Kante’s long pass to Moussa Diaby led to an early goal, which was later disallowed for offside. It was Al Hilal that struck first, with Mitrovic scoring a header in the third minute from a cross by Ruben Neves. Despite Al Ittihad’s attempts to equalize, Mitrovic doubled the lead from a penalty kick after a foul on Renan Lodi. The game was put beyond doubt with a brilliant solo effort from Salem Al Dawsari before Al Ittihad managed to score a consolation goal through Karim Benzema.

The match saw impressive performances from both goalkeepers, with Predrag Rajkovic making crucial saves for Al Ittihad and Yassine Bono denying Karim Benzema’s efforts. Mitrovic’s brace took his goal tally to eight in just four matches, reaffirming his impressive form in the league. Al Hilal’s victory not only ended Al Ittihad’s unbeaten record but also sent them clear at the top of the table, showcasing their dominance in the Saudi league under coach Jorge Jesus.

Al Hilal’s captain, Salem Al Dawsari, also played a vital role in the victory with his brilliant solo goal, showcasing his skill and leadership on the field. The team’s performance highlighted their strong attacking prowess and defensive solidity, with players like Joao Cancelo and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic making significant contributions. Al Ittihad fought hard to get back into the match, but their efforts were not enough to overcome Al Hilal’s determined display.

The victory in the Saudi Clasico was a significant statement from Al Hilal, showcasing their intent to dominate the league and compete for the title. With Mitrovic in top form and the team firing on all cylinders, they are well-placed to maintain their position at the top of the table. The match highlighted the intense rivalry between the two teams and the competitive nature of the Roshn Saudi League, keeping fans on the edge of their seats throughout.

As the season progresses, Al Hilal will look to build on their strong start and continue their winning streak to clinch the title. With players like Mitrovic and Al Dawsari leading the charge, they have the talent and determination to overcome any challenges they may face. The victory over Al Ittihad served as a statement of intent from Al Hilal, announcing their status as the team to beat in the Saudi league. Fans can look forward to more exciting matches and thrilling performances as the season unfolds.
