The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Muscat has issued a safety alert for owners and operators of jet-skis and recreational marine units. The alert emphasizes the importance of implementing measures to ensure a safe environment for customers. These measures include prohibiting the use of jet skis and marine sports units after sunset, providing life jackets for all customers, having a means of communication for emergencies, restricting riding to designated areas, having a rescue crew and first aid kit on site, limiting the number of bikes in one location to eight, monitoring and preventing risky behavior, checking weather conditions before use, having a water bike or boat available for emergencies, and enforcing an age restriction that individuals under 16 cannot ride without adult supervision.

By adhering to these guidelines, owners and operators can help to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of their customers. The Ministry’s safety alert serves as a reminder of the importance of following safety protocols in water sports activities to prevent potential risks and injuries. It highlights the responsibility that owners and operators have in providing a secure environment for their customers and emphasizes the need for vigilance in monitoring and enforcing safety measures.

The prohibition of jet ski and marine sports units after sunset is a crucial safety measure to prevent accidents in low visibility conditions. Providing life jackets for all customers ensures that individuals are equipped with the necessary safety gear in case of emergencies. Having a means of communication for emergencies allows for quick response to any unforeseen incidents, while restricting riding to designated areas helps to prevent collisions and ensure the safety of riders.

By having a rescue crew and first aid kit on site, owners and operators can respond promptly to any accidents or emergencies that may occur during water sports activities. Limiting the number of bikes in one location to eight helps to manage the traffic and reduce the risk of overcrowding and accidents. Monitoring and preventing risky behavior is essential in ensuring the safety of customers and preventing potential dangers during water sports activities.

Checking weather conditions before use is vital to avoid water sports activities in unfavorable weather conditions that may pose risks to riders. Having a water bike or boat available for emergencies ensures that immediate assistance can be provided in case of emergencies. Enforcing an age restriction for individuals under 16 emphasizes the importance of adult supervision in ensuring the safety of young riders during water sports activities.

In conclusion, the safety alert issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Muscat emphasizes the importance of implementing safety measures in jet-ski and recreational marine units to ensure the safety of customers. By adhering to the guidelines outlined in the alert, owners and operators can help prevent accidents and create a secure environment for water sports activities. It is essential for owners and operators to prioritize safety and vigilance in monitoring and enforcing safety protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure a safe experience for customers.
