Ministry of Sports concludes UN delegate program

The Ministry of Sports and Youth in Qatar recently concluded the Qatar Youth Delegate to UN Programme, which aimed to train 24 young Qataris for leadership roles in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The programme, held at the UN House in Lusail, included workshops to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to actively participate in UN meetings and engage with its global organizations. Fawaz Al Mesaifri, Director of Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry, emphasized that the programme is aligned with Qatar’s vision for human development and the strategic goals of the Youth Affairs Department to empower Qatari youth for international forums.

Rashid Al Naimi, Director of the programme, highlighted that the workshops focused on familiarizing participants with the principles and mechanisms of UN work, as well as the UN sustainable development goals. The youths also gained insights into Qatar’s foreign policy on international issues and the progress made in fulfilling voluntary commitments. The initiative aimed to develop the skills of young Qataris and enable them to make a distinctive contribution in global forums.
