The Ministry of Interior (MOI) in Doha, Qatar is actively participating in the National Oral and Dental Health campaign, with the theme “Your teeth are the gateway to your health.” This campaign is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and other related entities under the National Committee for Oral and Dental Health. The campaign includes an awareness exhibition and a mobile dental clinic at the MOI’s Wadi Al Sail building, running from September 15 – 19, 2024. The aim is to raise awareness about oral and dental health precautions, conduct medical check-ups for ministry staff, and provide treatments.
Director of the Medical Services Department, Brigadier Salem Saeed Al Rashidi, highlighted the importance of participating in national health campaigns and events. The MOI’s Medical Services Department is an integral part of the country’s health system, providing medical care to a large segment of the MOI’s employees and their families. The department’s dental clinics have highly experienced staff and state-of-the-art medical equipment to ensure the highest level of quality and efficiency in patient care. Collaborations with the Ministry of Public Health and other medical authorities in the country have been praised for their constructive and fruitful outcomes.
Orthodontist Consultant and Head of Dental Clinics at the Medical Services Department, Major Dr. Shaikha Jassim Abdul Jabbar, emphasized the department’s annual plan to contribute to community activities and events for raising awareness and improving oral and dental health. This year, the department’s focus is on providing awareness advice to ministry members and offering a mobile dental clinic within the ministry’s building for examinations and appropriate treatments. Awareness is also being spread through the MOI’s website and social media pages, along with providing educational publications to visitors. The participation of the Medical Services Department in the national survey on oral and dental health for adolescents aged 12-16 further demonstrates their commitment to promoting oral health.
