The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar is ready to welcome students for the new academic year 2024-25, ensuring a conducive learning environment. Assistant Director of School Affairs Department, Fatima Yousef Al Obaidli, mentioned that schools have made necessary preparations, especially for kindergartens, with recreational and educational activities to motivate students. A total of 378,134 students in government and private schools will commence classes on Sunday.

According to Al Obaidli, academic and administrative staff have been working since August 25 to prepare classrooms with international standard teaching aids and safety regulations for students. Moreover, the Health and Safety Department has completed maintenance works in schools, including cleaning water tanks and checking fire safety systems. Fire drills and first aid training for school employees are also part of ensuring the safety and health of students.

Director of the Health and Safety Department, Mohammed Abdullah Al Maraghi, stated that the Ministry approved 23 companies to supply food items to schools. These companies have been distributed among schools according to geographical locations. Additionally, the General Directorate of Traffic is focused on providing a safe traffic environment, regulating vehicle movement, and easing congestion on roads near schools.

First Lieutenant Abdul Mohsen Al Ruwaili, Traffic Media Officer, emphasized the importance of the traffic department’s surveillance cameras in monitoring vehicle movement and ensuring the safety of students. A comprehensive traffic plan has been developed to enhance security and reduce traffic accidents, based on previous experiences. The directorate conducts back-to-school campaigns annually, targeting students, safety supervisors, and school bus drivers to promote safe driving practices and compliance with safety requirements.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar is prepared to receive students for the new academic year, with a focus on creating a motivating and engaging learning environment. The efforts of academic and administrative staff, as well as the Health and Safety Department, ensure that classrooms are equipped with necessary teaching aids and safety measures. The Ministry’s approval of food supply companies and the General Directorate of Traffic’s initiatives aim to provide a safe and secure environment for students, emphasizing the importance of traffic regulations and safety awareness campaigns.
