Minister of Environment awards participants in the Summer Environmental Club program

Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie recently hosted a ceremony to honor participants in the first edition of the 2024 Summer Environmental Club program. The program, which took place from June 30 to July 18, aimed to educate students on the Qatari environment, biodiversity, conservation methods, and the challenges facing the environment. Dr. Al Subaie praised the level of awareness among the participants, highlighting the program’s success in instilling environmental values and sustainable practices in their hearts.

During the event, students engaged in a panel discussion where they shared the skills and knowledge they acquired through various activities. The affiliates of the club also outlined their vision of the program and the environmental skills they had gained. Dr. Al Subaie emphasized the importance of nurturing a new generation of environmentally conscious young men and women who can protect their local environment. He expressed his desire for students to share their knowledge with their peers, spreading environmental awareness throughout the community.

The Minister underscored the ministry’s commitment to raising awareness among all community members through various programs and initiatives. The success of the first edition of the Environmental Club program has inspired the launch of future editions to fulfill the ministry’s vision of environmental protection and conservation. Dr. Al Subaie emphasized the connection between environmental sustainability and national progress, as outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to achieve sustainable development while preserving the environment.

Participants, including student Badr Abdulrahman Al Dafa, expressed their gratitude for the program, noting its significant impact on their understanding of the Qatari environment and natural resource conservation. Dr. Al Subaie concluded the ceremony by distributing certificates and commemorative shields to students, lecturers, participating bodies, and supervisors. He praised the efforts of supporters from the public and private sectors, as well as volunteers, organizers, and parents, in enriching and upgrading the program for future editions.

In closing, the Minister highlighted the importance of investing in youth, who represent the future leaders of the nation. He acknowledged the positive impact of the program in empowering students to make a difference in their local environment and encouraged them to continue sharing their knowledge with others. Through ongoing initiatives and collaborations, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is working to create a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who are committed to preserving the environment for future generations.
