Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie recently hosted a ceremony to honor participants in the first edition of the 2024 Summer Environmental Club program. The program, which took place from June 30 to July 18, aimed to educate students on the Qatari environment, biodiversity, conservation methods, and the challenges facing the environment. Dr. Al Subaie praised the level of awareness among the participants, highlighting the program’s success in instilling environmental values and sustainable practices in their hearts.
During the event, students engaged in a panel discussion where they shared the skills and knowledge they acquired through various activities. The affiliates of the club also outlined their vision of the program and the environmental skills they had gained. Dr. Al Subaie emphasized the importance of nurturing a new generation of environmentally conscious young men and women who can protect their local environment. He expressed his desire for students to share their knowledge with their peers, spreading environmental awareness throughout the community.
The Minister underscored the ministry’s commitment to raising awareness among all community members through various programs and initiatives. Dr. Al Subaie concluded the ceremony by distributing certificates and commemorative shields to students, lecturers, participating bodies, and supervisors.
