Actor Michael B Jordan is making waves in the film industry, particularly with the success of his directorial debut in Creed III. His next big project is the new adaptation of the classic film Thomas Crown Affair, which he will direct and star in. This project is in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and will be released exclusively in theaters worldwide. Jordan will take on the lead role in the film through his production company, Outlier Society, in partnership with Elizabeth Raposo.

Outlier Society holds a first-look film deal and an overall TV deal with Amazon MGM, setting the stage for a successful partnership. The upcoming film will be the third iteration of Thomas Crown Affair, with the original 1968 film starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. Jordan’s portrayal of Thomas Crown will give him the opportunity to showcase his dynamic range and blend charisma with complex character depth. This project comes on the heels of the success of Creed III, which set franchise records and grossed over $276 million worldwide. Jordan is eager to continue his success in the director’s chair.

The script for the film was penned by Drew Pearce, building on drafts by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson. Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, creating anticipation for the film’s release. Jordan and his team are now on the hunt for a co-star who can complement his performance and add to the allure of the film. Producers for the film include Patrick McCormick, Marc Toberoff, and executive producer Alan Trustman, who wrote the original 1968 screenplay.

The 1999 version of Thomas Crown Affair featured Pierce Brosnan as the suave millionaire with a penchant for art theft and Rene Russo as the insurance investigator. Jordan’s take on the character will bring a fresh perspective to the story, appealing to both fans of the original film and new audiences. The film marks Jordan’s return to directing after the success of Creed III, showcasing his multifaceted talents as both an actor and director. With the support of Amazon MGM Studios, this adaptation of Thomas Crown Affair is poised to be a hit in theaters worldwide.
