Damian McHugh, the General Manager of Al Dhannah Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, is looking forward to improving the member and guest experience at the club. With over two decades of experience in the industry, McHugh has worked in various aspects of the business, from golf development and sales to marketing strategies and operations at prestigious private clubs and resorts across China, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. The club has been operational since November 2021, with McHugh joining the project in September of that year.

The golf course at Al Dhannah Golf Club was designed by renowned UK golf course designer, John Hunt, who is part of the International Design Group. The club is affiliated with the Emirates Golf Federation, boasting a 9-hole course measuring 3,454 yards and playing at a Par 36. In addition to the course, the club offers a driving range, short game area, and putting green, all of which are floodlit. The award-winning Ola Brazil Restaurant at the club provides a full churrasco experience with 15 kinds of meat carved tableside by Brazilian trained chefs.

Currently, the club employs approximately 100 staff to manage the golf course and clubhouse. They also use part-time staff and contractors for event days. Looking ahead to the 2024-25 season, McHugh and his team are focused on enhancing the member and guest experience and attracting more guests from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and beyond. The club has been nominated for the ‘Middle East Best 9-Hole Golf Course’ at the 2024 World Golf Awards, with the winners set to be announced in Madeira in November.

McHugh is excited about the recognition the club may receive at the prestigious event. The club’s plans for the forthcoming season include improving the overall experience for members and guests and increasing its appeal to visitors from neighboring cities and regions. With a focus on providing exceptional service and amenities, Al Dhannah Golf Club aims to solidify its reputation as a top golf destination in the Middle East.

The club’s facilities, including the golf course, driving range, and restaurant, offer a unique and enjoyable experience for golf enthusiasts and visitors alike. With a team of dedicated staff and a commitment to excellence, Al Dhannah Golf Club is poised to become a leading golf destination in the region. Guests can expect a memorable experience at the club, with top-notch amenities and services that cater to all their needs.

As the General Manager, Damian McHugh is dedicated to ensuring that the club continues to provide exceptional experiences for its members and guests. With a focus on enhancing the overall guest experience and attracting more visitors to the club, Al Dhannah Golf Club is set to become one of the premier golf destinations in the region. The club’s recognition at the 2024 World Golf Awards is a testament to its commitment to excellence and dedication to providing a top-tier golf experience for all who visit.
