Paris Saint-Germain’s star forward Kylian Mbappe was named France’s player of the year at the UNFP Trophies gala in Paris, marking his fifth consecutive win for the best player in Ligue 1. The 25-year-old has had an outstanding season, scoring an impressive 44 goals in all competitions for PSG. Despite confirming his departure from the club at the end of the season, Mbappe continues to shine on the field, recently scoring in his final home game for PSG.

Mbappe’s decision to leave PSG has sparked speculation about his next destination, with Real Madrid being a likely choice. His departure will mark the end of a seven-season stay with the French club, during which he has established himself as one of the top players in the world. With two more Ligue 1 games and the French Cup final still to play, Mbappe’s focus remains on finishing the season strong with PSG.

The French forward’s stellar performance on the field has earned him not only the player of the year award but also the title of the top scorer in Ligue 1, with 27 goals so far this season. Mbappe’s talent and skill have set him apart from his peers, making him a deserving recipient of the prestigious UNFP award. The ceremony, attended by fellow players and Olympic champion Marie-Jose Perec, highlighted Mbappe’s dominance in French football.

In addition to Mbappe’s individual accolades, PSG’s success in the domestic league was also recognized at the awards ceremony. Teenage midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery was named the young player of the season, while Gianluigi Donnarumma received the award for the best goalkeeper. Furthermore, Eric Roy of Brest was honored as the coach of the year for his remarkable achievement in leading the club to European qualification for the first time in its history.

As Mbappe prepares to bid farewell to PSG, his legacy at the club remains intact, with his impressive goal-scoring record and individual accolades solidifying his status as one of the top players in France. His departure will undoubtedly leave a void in the PSG squad, but the forward’s talent and determination ensure that he will continue to excel at the highest level of football. With a bright future ahead of him, Mbappe’s next chapter in his career promises to be as illustrious as his time with PSG.
