Lulu rejoices in the bountiful Saudi mango season’s golden harvest

The LuLu Saudi Mango Festival 2024 has kicked off with a bang, celebrating the delicious and diverse varieties of mango grown in Saudi Arabia. The festival, which will run until 7 May, is being held at all LuLu Hypermarket outlets across the Kingdom, showcasing 24 local types of Saudi mango. The opening ceremonies took place simultaneously at three LuLu Hypermarkets, with high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and other esteemed guests in attendance.

The festival is part of an ongoing effort to promote Saudi agricultural products and support local farmers. In addition to the 24 Saudi mango varieties on display, there will also be popular mango varieties from other countries that have been specially cultivated in Saudi soil. From ripe and raw mangoes to mango-infused dishes like desserts, curries, pickles, and smoothies, there will be something for every mango lover to enjoy.

Eng. Muhammad Al-Abdullatif, the Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Facilities and Supportive Services, expressed his delight at inaugurating the festival and praised LuLu Hypermarket for their efforts in highlighting the deliciousness of Saudi mangoes. He emphasized the importance of innovation in the Saudi agricultural sector and expressed hope for the availability of a wide variety of fruits and vegetables for Saudi shoppers in the future.

Shehim Mohammed, representing LuLu Hypermarket, also spoke at the inauguration, emphasizing the nutritional benefits of mangoes and the importance of supporting local farmers. He encouraged shoppers to take advantage of the festival to taste and appreciate the 24 Saudi mango varieties on offer and enjoy the flavors of summer.

The festival was attended by a number of dignitaries and officials, including Dr. Ibrahim Al-Turki, Eng. Nayef Al-Masoudi, and Eng. Khaled Hanifat. In Jeddah, the assistant director general for technical affairs, the director of the Agriculture Department at the Ministry’s branch in Mecca, and other officials were also present at the opening ceremony. Throughout the festival, shoppers can expect promotions, cooking demonstrations, and a wide range of mango-infused dishes to enjoy.

With the Saudi Mango Festival 2024 in full swing, mango lovers across Saudi Arabia have the opportunity to indulge in the sweet and juicy flavors of local and international mango varieties. From desserts to savory dishes, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this celebration of all things mango. The festival not only highlights the deliciousness of Saudi mangoes but also serves as a platform to support local farmers and promote the abundance of agricultural products in the Kingdom.
