The PGA Championship heated up during the third round as Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa shared the lead, with Ireland’s Shane Lowry making an epic charge up the leaderboard. Schauffele and Morikawa both finished the day at 15 under, with seven players within four strokes of the leaders, including Sahith Theegala in third place. Lowry’s impressive nine-under par 62 catapulted him into contention, just two shots off the lead.

Lowry, the 2019 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship winner, expressed his disappointment at not being able to shoot a 61 despite his stellar performance. However, he remains confident in his abilities and is eager to make a strong push in the final round. Lowry’s last win was at the Zurich Classic, where he partnered with Rory McIlroy, who credits Lowry for helping him get his game back on track. With Lowry and Morikawa paired for the final round, along with Sahith Theegala, the stage is set for an exciting finish.

As the final round approaches, Morikawa and Schauffele will be battling it out for the lead, with Lowry and Hovland close behind. Justin Rose and Robert MacIntyre are also in contention, setting the stage for a thrilling finish. Morikawa had a brief lead after Schauffele encountered trouble with a double-bogey, but both players remain focused on their game. According to Elias Sports Bureau, history favors players who were leading or within two shots of the lead after 54 holes at the PGA Championship.

With a tight leaderboard heading into the final day, fans can expect a competitive finish at the PGA Championship. Schauffele and Morikawa will be looking to secure their first major titles, while Lowry, Hovland, and the rest of the field will be eager to make their mark. As the pressure mounts, every shot will be crucial in determining the outcome of the tournament. Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club.
