Starting on May 31, 2024, the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will be implementing a three-week partial night-time closure along Al Corniche Street in Doha, Qatar. This closure will involve two lanes being closed at night for motorists traveling from the Fateh Al Khair Intersection towards the Islamic Museum Intersection. While specific closure timings have not been announced, the closure is necessary for Ashghal to conduct maintenance works in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.

During this partial closure, motorists are advised to use surrounding local roads as indicated on a map provided by Ashghal. It is important for drivers to follow traffic signs and directions to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and to reach their destinations without any issues. This temporary closure is aimed at improving the overall infrastructure and safety of Al Corniche Street for drivers and pedestrians alike.

This maintenance work and partial closure demonstrate the commitment of Ashghal to enhancing the road network and infrastructure in Doha. By carrying out necessary maintenance and improvements, Ashghal aims to provide a safe and efficient transportation system for residents and visitors alike. The temporary inconvenience of the closure will ultimately result in long-term benefits for all road users in the area.

Ashghal’s coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic highlights the importance of ensuring that road closures and maintenance works are carried out in a safe and organized manner. By working together, these organizations can minimize disruptions to traffic flow and ensure that the necessary maintenance is completed efficiently and effectively. This collaboration is essential for maintaining the overall functionality of the road network in Doha.

Drivers should be aware of the partial closure along Al Corniche Street and plan their routes accordingly during the three-week period. By utilizing alternate local roads and following traffic signs, motorists can navigate around the closure and reach their destinations with minimal inconvenience. It is important for drivers to stay informed about any updates or changes to the closure schedule to avoid any delays or confusion while traveling in the area.

Overall, the three-week partial night-time closure on Al Corniche Street is a necessary measure to facilitate maintenance works and improvements on this busy thoroughfare. By following the guidance provided by Ashghal and the General Directorate of Traffic, motorists can navigate around the closure smoothly and safely. This temporary inconvenience will ultimately contribute to the long-term enhancement of the road network in Doha, benefiting all road users in the city.
