RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Economy Faisal Al-Ibrahim emphasized the growing international recognition of Saudi Arabia’s approach to energy transition, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation as the foundation of its “Green Dream” for energy transition.
Speaking at a special session on carbon capture at the World Economic Forum, Al-Ibrahim discussed the necessity to encourage local innovators, thinkers, and companies to develop forward-thinking solutions that may seem out of reach today but could be feasible with technological advancements.
He credited Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman for leading energy initiatives that explore carbon capture and utilization.
Al-Ibrahim further noted Saudi Arabia’s investment in innovation and its aim to lead the global energy sector, challenging young innovators worldwide to engage in creating a circular carbon economy, aligning with global efforts towards sustainability.
