Latifa Saeed, an Emirati artist based in Dubai, has been gaining recognition on the international art scene for her immersive installations that showcase UAE culture. Her installations, such as ‘Dust Devils’, draw inspiration from the UAE deserts and use technology to recreate natural phenomena. Through her works, visitors gain a deeper appreciation of the atmospheric landscapes of the Middle Eastern deserts.

Reflecting on her artistic journey, Latifa credits her strong art curriculum at Latifa School for Girls in Dubai for sparking her passion for art. She believes that her education laid the foundation for her artistic career. Recently, her works were featured in the ‘Beyond Emerging Artists’ initiative by Abu Dhabi Art, showcasing her talent on a global platform at prestigious events like the Venice Biennale and Kochi’s Durbar Hall Art Gallery.

Participating in events like the Venice Biennale and Kochi Art Fair has provided Latifa with invaluable international exposure, allowing her to share Emirati culture and engage in meaningful dialogues with diverse communities. She believes that art transcends borders and languages, serving as a universal medium that brings people together. This exposure has enriched her creativity, increased her credibility, and inspired her to explore new ideas while staying rooted in her cultural identity.

Latifa’s work, ‘Notes from Another Shore’, supported by the Rizq Art Initiative, celebrates the UAE-Kerala relationship, highlighting the cultural exchange between the two regions. She views her participation in international fairs as a profound experience that deepens her understanding of her nation and culture. By showcasing her work on a global stage, she aims to promote dialogue and appreciation for Emirati culture while embracing innovation and creativity.

Kochi, known for its significant contemporary art scene in Asia, provided Latifa with a platform to connect with both emerging and established artists. She values the opportunity to engage with diverse audiences and believes that art plays a crucial role in bringing people together. Through her installations, she aims to create immersive experiences that resonate with viewers and invite them to explore the beauty and significance of UAE culture.

As she continues to gain recognition on the international art scene, Latifa remains committed to creating impactful installations that stimulate curiosity and appreciation for the UAE culture. Through her innovative use of technology and artistic expression, she invites viewers to immerse themselves in her unique world and gain a deeper understanding of the natural landscapes and cultural heritage of the Middle East. With her talent and dedication, Latifa Saeed is poised to make a lasting mark on the global art community.
